Getting Started at Trinity
Whether you have recently visited one of our services or meetings for the first time, or you are perusing our website, or you have been coming to Trinity for awhile, we are so glad to have you! This page is set up to introduce ourselves to you a little better!
In the summer of 2003 several families started meeting in each other’s homes. After a while and much prayer, we decided our church would be named “Trinity Christian Fellowship”. However, we needed a church home. We became aware of an unoccupied church building on Dry Creek in Morehead. It was an old building that had not been used in quite some time. Our families got together, cleaned, made some repairs, and made the building usable in record time.
On August 10, 2003, we had our inaugural service as Trinity Christian Fellowship in the building on Dry Creek. During the next month, several members brought the message each week. Realizing we now needed a pastor to lead our flock, Wade Muncy was invited to come and preach for us. We voted on September 7, 2003, and Wade’s first service as pastor was September 14, 2003.
During the next few months, we made several improvements to the Dry Creek property including closing in the picnic shelter so it could be used to hold Children’s Church. Soon, though, we had a (really good) problem—too many children! We then began looking for a larger building.
Through a series of God-led “circumstances,” we discovered we could rent the TNT Gym building on West Main Street. Starting in the summer of 2004, we would set up and tear down our “sanctuary” each week (because the building was still used the other six days of the week as a gym) for our Sunday services. The house next door (we called it the Trinity House) was used for youth, children’s church, offices, and Wednesday evening services. We continued meeting at Dry Creek for some other evening services.
Then, the BIGGEST God-sized event happened! David and Robin Pollitte (owners of TNT Gym) decided to sell—to us! After much prayer, a contract was signed on October 28, 2005.
In the 12 years since we have built a permanent stage, rooms under the stage, made areas for children and youth upstairs, painted, installed a commercial kitchen, and many other improvements.
We thank God for the opportunities He has given Trinity Christian Fellowship and look forward to what He has in store for us in the future.
Our vision at Trinity is in “Doing Life Together W.E.L.L.”
Worship (individually & corporately)
Engage (others with the Word)
Love (others where they are)
Our unified purpose in all that we do is to win people to Christ, support believers in their journey of faith, and then equip them to serve God with the gifts and talents He provides. Hence, the TITUS Strategy!
T.each to Establish,
I.dentify for Purpose,
T.rain to Equip,
U.nleash for Ministry,
S.ee the Fruit!
We are a group of believers bonded together by a new birth in the Lord Jesus Christ. We come together “in spirit and truth”, individually and corporately, to worship God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, preserving the Word, empowered by the Holy Spirit to train, to equip, to build up each other, to demonstrate God’s love to those who are in need, and to proclaim the Good News of the Gospel in our homes, community, and world.

We believe in the Bible, that it is God’s Holy Word! We believe God is the sole author of each and every word of Scripture, that He inspired men through the Holy Spirit to write down the words found in each book on ancient scrolls across centuries of actual human history for future generations to have and to pass down. We believe that the Bible is entirely God’s Word from Genesis to Revelation, without any error! – Mark 12:36; John 1:1-5; John 14:26; John 16:12-15; Acts 1:16; 1 Corinthians 2:12-13; 2 Timothy 3:14-16; 2 Peter 1:20-21

We believe in the biblical teaching that man, created by God, willfully sinned against God, and is consequently lost and without hope of salvation from the wrath of God against sin apart from Jesus Christ! – John 3; Acts 4:12; Romans 1:18-22; Romans 3:23; John 1:12-13
We believe in the biblical teaching that salvation-the forgiveness of sins-is not by works but only by grace through the blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross! – John 3; Matthew 26:28; Romans 5:9; Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 Peter 1:18-19; 1 John 1:7
We believe in the biblical teaching that one receives God’s grace by putting his or her faith in Christ alone, repenting of sin, confessing Christ as Lord of one’s life, and being immersed into Christ through water baptism! – John 1:12-13; John 3: Romans 5:1-21; Luke 24:45-47; Acts 3:19; Acts 17:30; 2 Peter 3:9; Matthew 10:32; Romans 10:9; Philippians 2:11; 1 John 4:15; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:1-7; Galatians 3:27; Colossians 2:12; 1 Peter 3:21

We believe in the biblical teaching that the Elders of the local church are to exercise authority over the local congregation. – Acts 20:28; Philippians 1:1; 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4
We believe that marriage is the blessing and design of God in which one man is joined to one woman in a single, exclusive union as delineated in the Scriptures (*see references). We believe that God intends for sexual intimacy to occur between only a man and a woman who have been joined together in marriage. We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity is to be engaged in outside of the bonds of matrimony. We believe that any form of sexual immorality such as adultery, fornication, homosexuality (please read more here), bisexuality, bestiality, incest, pornography, any attempt to change one’s sex or disagreement with one’s original biological sex or gender, is sinful and offensive to God. We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of the church as the local “Body of Christ”, and to provide a biblical role model to its members and its community, it is imperative that ALL persons employed by the church in any capacity, or even those serving as volunteers, will abide by and agree to this Statement on Marriage and Sexuality, and will conduct themselves accordingly. – *Genesis 2:18-24; Leviticus 18; Romans 1:21-27; Hebrews 13:4; 1 Corinthians 7:2; Galatians 5:19; Ephesians 5:3; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; 1 Timothy 1:10; Jude 7; Revelation 21:8
We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity! Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accordance with Scripture! – 2 Kings 13:23; Nehemiah 9:19; Job 8:5; Psalm 25:6; Psalm 51:1; Proverbs 28:13; Matthew 2:34; Mark 1:41; Philippians 2:1-11
